Notice of Accommodation Tax

Starting April 1, 2026 (Wednesday), an accommodation tax will be introduced by both Hokkaido Prefecture and the City of Hakodate.
Please note that this tax will be collected separately from the accommodation fees at the hotel upon check-out.

The accommodation tax will be applied per person, per night, based on the room rate (excluding meals and consumption tax, but including service charges).

• Room rate between ¥50,000 and ¥99,999: ¥1,000 (including ¥500 Hokkaido tax)
• Room rate ¥100,000 or more: ¥2,500 (including ¥500 Hokkaido tax)
